An Enduring Icon of 1950s Sports Car Racing
Supplied new to noted sports car racer Jack McAfee and Stan Sugarman, this car boasts an exceptional competition pedigree from 1957 to 1962, with SCCA victories at Palm Springs, Riverside, Pomona, Laguna Seca, and Phoenix. Recently emerging from a meticulous six-year restoration by renowned Porsche specialist Andy Prill in the United Kingdom, it retains its matching-numbers gearbox and is accompanied by its original engine case and Type 550A Driver’s Manual. RM Sotheby’s will offer this Porsche 550A Spyder at its biennial Monaco auction taking place on 25 April.

TG183B-05 marks the origin of a legend—the very car driven by Ayrton Senna in his Formula 1 debut at the 1984 Brazilian Grand Prix. Raced exclusively in period by the three-time World Champion, it contested four rounds of the 1984 season, including a sixth-place finish at the South African Grand Prix and Belgian Grand Prix—earning Senna his first World Championship points. Beautifully preserved with authentic components, including its period-correct Hart 415T engine, RM Sotheby’s will offer TG183B-05 at its biennial Monaco auction taking place on 25 April.
